2012 AI / TI "Hobie BIG DAY OUT" - Jervis Bay

My (TI) crew decided to abandon ship and left me up the creek without a paddle.
Who would have thought you'd get weather like this in February - usually a hot dry month.
Good ol Murphy's been at it again.....

Hopefully there will be another HBDO - but we'd better make sure we don't tell Murphy 'bout it next time

The best thing about Saurday is being able to walk my AI back to the holday hut we have on wrights beach.

Wow! At least 35 AIs/TIs coming for the first event! That is impressive - there are obviously heaps of very passionate owners out there, and it beggars belief how big follow-up events will be!

I am hanging out to sell my car and move to a simpler one to fund my TI, which is already sitting on the rack at my local Hobie dealer. I'm like a puppy with two tails!

I am sure it is really easy, but how do I actually register for the Hobie Big Day Out. All I seem to get is a circular process without actually registering.

I see we have at least 35 AI/TIs coming so far.
Not a bad effort for a first.
At least 5 of the Gippsland lakes (Victoria) gang are coming.
Most of us are members of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club, which was founded with a handful of members in 1983 and now has a membership in excess of 50,000
With the support of our parent company, we reckon this could grow into an annual event as big as the Ulysses AGM, which is held in various locations around Australia and attracts as many as 5000 members each year.
We haven't ever formalised it, but we regard ourselves as the Sailing/Kayaking SIG (special interest group) of Ulysses MC Club
Jervis Bay is a great location and we are all looking forward to having a memorable and enjoyable trip and being part of what could become a major annual event, staged in varying locations around Australia.

10:00am Morning tea and snack packs provided by Hobiecat Australasia
12:00 Back at Vincentia Sailing Club
12:00 Free AI/TA sailing, open cat sailing, SUPing, AI/TI demos
1:30 pm Gourmet Seafood/Meat BBQ, Presentation / Prize Draw
A course boat will be on hand to shepherd the fleet on Sunday.
